9-Day Spiritual & Central Highlands

Day 1: Paro to Thimphu 

Arrive in Paro. Visit Tamchog Lhakhang (Iron Bridge) on the way to the capital.Evening visit to the National Memorial Chorten and stroll Thimphu city. (Overnight: Thimphu)

Day 2: Thimphu Exploration 

Hike to Cheri Monastery (Bhutan’s first monastery) or visit the Buddha Point.Explore the Textile Museum and Postal Museum (print your own stamps). (Overnight: Thimphu)

Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha

Cross Dochula Pass (3,100m). Hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten for valley views.Visit the majestic Punakha Dzong and walk the long suspension bridge. (Overnight: Punakha)

Day 4: Punakha to Phobjikha

Visit Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple). Drive to the glacial Phobjikha Valley. Visit the Crane Information Center to learn about the Black-necked Cranes. (Overnight: Phobjikha)

Day 5 : Phobjikha to Trongsa

Morning walk on the Gangtey Nature Trail. Drive over Pele La Pass to Trongsa.Tour the massive Trongsa Dzong, the largest fortress in Bhutan. (Overnight: Trongsa)

Day 6 : Trongsa to Bumthang

Visit the Ta Dzong (Watchtower Museum). Scenic 3-hour drive to the Bumthang valleys.Visit Jakar Dzong (Castle of the White Bird) and explore the local town. (Overnight: Bumthang)

Day 7 : Bumthang Spiritual Tour

Visit Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, and the sacred Mebar Tso (Burning Lake).Sample local specialties like Red Panda Beer and Swiss cheese at the local farm. (Overnight: Bumthang)

Day 8 : Bumthang to Paro

Take a domestic mountain flight from Bumthang back to Paro (approx. 35 mins). Visit Kyichu Lhakhang and prepare for the final hike. (Overnight: Paro)

Day 9 : Paro – Tiger’s Nest

The legendary hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest). Enjoy a celebratory final dinner. Final transfer to Paro International Airport for departure.
